In 2013, the Bulgarian scientific community commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the birth of one of the most prominent Bulgarian scientists

ACADEMICIAN LJUBOMIR ILIEV
(April 20, 1913 − June 6, 2000)

Acad. Iliev was a brilliant mathematician, pedagogue, reformer of the Bulgarian science and higher education, and one of the founders of the informatics in Bulgaria. He was the founding editor of Serdica Bulgariacae Mathematicae Publicationes, the predecessor of Serdica Mathematical Journal.
