The main purpose of the Workshop is to attract the attention of the scientists to the newly established area of Astroinformatics as a multidisciplinary area of applications of Computer Science and Mathematical methods in Astronomy. 

The recently developed methods of Signal and Image processing are among the main tools used for analyzing Astronomical Images. In particular, we promote the application of the methods of Wavelet Analysis and Compressed  Sensing. 

The Workshop will be held on the afternoon of September 19, 2009.
