The faculty of the Computational Mathematics Department is involved in theoretical
investigations and practical realization of numerical methods and algorithms for solving linear and
nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs), systems of PDEs, integral equations, as well as in
application of numerical methods in mathematical modeling of environmental, engineering, and
other problems.
Main topics of our interest are
-
Finite difference and finite volume methods;
-
Finite element and boundary element methods;
-
Numerical linear algebra;
-
Numerical methods for nonlinear problems;
-
Multigrid and domain decomposition;
-
Computational fluid dynamics;
-
