Time-Harmonic Analysis of Structural In-Fluid Vibrations with a Coupled Finite-Boundary Element Method Ch. Beiersdorf, Ch. Cabos, F. Ihlenburg^ ^Germanischer Lloyd, Vorsetzen 32, D-20459 Hamburg, Germany The computational analysis of ship structures naturally leads to various problems of fluid-structure interaction. We report on experience in the dynamic analysis of ships with finite element and boundary element methods. The approach will be illustrated on a model problem. Then, addressing the practical goals, as well as the practical constraints, of large-scale analysis, we review numerical results from real-scale ship computations.
