GFTA’2010 – Sofia – IMI, BAS: Preliminary Announcement

Dear Colleagues,
We would like to announce the forthcoming International Symposium GFTA’2010:

Geometric Function Theory and Applications’2010

to be held in Sofia, in the period  27 – 31 August 2010,  and hosted by the

Institute of Mathematics and Informatics – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IMI–BAS),

with the kind cooperation of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics – Technical University of Sofia (FPMI–TU) as local co-organizer, and international co-organizing institutions: as Kinki University (Japan), Mr. Hisayoshi Nishiwaki - Slow Mathematics Inc. (Japan), Romanian-Japanese and Romanian-Malaysian Mathematical Research Centers, some universities from Turkey, Romania, Malaysia, S. Arabia, Iran, etc.

This meeting is a continuation of the series of the other annual international “GFTA” symposia (first two with different names): in Canada (2005), Romania (2006), Turkey (2007), Malaysia (2008, http://pkukmweb.ukm.my/~ppsmfst/gfta2008/), Romania (2009, http://depmath.ulbsibiu.ro/event/gfta2009/indexmain.html), initiated and organized by Prof. S. Owa. “GFTA’2010” is also a part (5th) of the international meetings “Transform Methods and Special Functions” (TMSF) organized periodically in Bulgaria: 1994 (Sofia), 1996 (Varna), 1999 (Blagoevgrad), 2003 (Borovets), http://www.math.bas.bg/~tmsf .

The aim of the “GFTA” symposia is to bring together leading experts as well as young researchers working on topics mainly related to Univalent Functions and Geometric Function Theory with applications in various areas of mathematics, and to present their recent work to the mathematical community. Among the main topics of “GFTA’2010” we plan:                 * Univalent Function Theory and its Applications, * Fractional Calculus; * Special Functions and Integral Operators; * Conformal and Quasiconformal Mappings, etc.

The presented articles will be published, after peer reviewing, in a special number of the journal “Fractional Calculus and Applied Analysis” (FCAA, www.math.bas.bg/~fcaa ).

Additional details on Organizing and Scientific Committees, Co-Organizers, Participation Fees, Accommodation and Travel, etc. will be given soon in next First Announcement. Colleagues interested to receive further information by e-mail are kindly asked to send a message, with subject “GFTA’2010”, to: virginia@diogenes.bg , tmsf@math.bas.bg .
