"Transform Methods & Special Functions, AUBG'99"
{Blagoevgrad, AUBG, 13-20 August, 1999)

First Announcement

- Organizing Committee: Profs. Peter Rusev (IMI-BAS), Shyam Kalla
(Kuwait Univ.), Ivan Dimovski (IMI-BAS), Asso. Profs. Virginia Kiryakova (IMI-BAS), Lyubomir Boyadjiev (TU-Sofia).

- History: The 1st Workshop "TMSF, Sofia'94" took place near Sofia (the resort town of Bankya), Bulgaria in the period 12-17 August 1994.
Attended by 46 mathematicians and 6 accompanying persons from 15 countries. The 2nd Workshop ``TMSF, Varna'96'' was organized to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the eminent Bulgarian mathematician N. Obrechkoff, in Varna (the Black Sea resort "Golden Sands"'), Bulgaria in the period 23-30 August 1996. Attended by 73 participants and several accompanying persons (incl. wives, husbands, children)from 19 countries. The Workshops "TMSF" were initiated as a continuation of the international conferences "Complex Analysis & Applications" in Varna, 1981, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1991 but with
the intention to bring together experts in closer fields and give the meetings the flavour of workshops on the following topics.

- Topics: Integral Transforms, Special Functions, Series Expansions,
Fractional Calculus, Algebraic Analysis, Generalized Functions, Operational Calculus, Univalent Functions; Applications of these topics to Complex Analysis, Differential and Integral Equations, Mathematical Physics; Related problems.

- The Third International Workshop "TMSF, AUBG'99" will take place in the town of Blagoevgrad (situated 100 km south from Sofia, the largest economical and cultural center of the Pirin and Rila Mountains region, on the Sofia - Koulata - Athens highway and railway line). The working days of the meeting will be 14-19 August 1999, arrivals on 12-13 August and departure on 20 August. This time, the meeting is organized with the kind assistence of the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG; visit "http://www.aubg.bg") and the
sessions will take place in the halls of AUBG. The accommodation of the participants will be arranged in the "Alen Mak" hotel located in front of the AUBG, both at a beautifull square in the very centre of the town. Transportation Sofia-Blagoevgrad-Sofia will be provided in groups, by buses/minibuses (incl. in the participation fees). During the meeting, various social activities will be organized as a welcome party, excursion to several interesting places in Rila and Pirin Mountains, etc.

- Proceedings: The Proc. "TMSF, Sofia'94"'(380 p.) was published by "Science Culture Technology Publishing"'(SCTP) - Singapore. The second one, "TMSF,
Varna'96" (620 p.) was planned for publication by the same publisher, but since he failed to do this for the economical crisis in Asia, this volume has been now published by IMI-BAS, Sofia and will be out of press in November 1998. More details on this publication are given in separate e-mail message (or please contact us). The Proceedings "TMSF, Blagoevgrad'99"' will be published as a special issue of the new international journal "Fractional Calculus & Applied Analysis" (FCAA, visit
"http://www.diogenes.bg/fcaa",
"http://www.math.bas.bg/~fcaa") . This will ensure its rapid publication,
refereeing by MathRev, ZBLMath, etc.

- Details on the accommodation and its prices, deadlines for submitting the titles of talks and their abstracts, participation fees and deadlines / methods of payments in advance, etc. will be given in the next, Second Announcement in December 1998. By the moment we have preliminary arrangements with the "Alen Mak" hotel at prices (per night/person/approx.): USD 35 (single room), USD 26 (1 bed in double room) and fullboard meals (breakfast, lunch, supper - combined in the hotel and AUBG canteen) for USD 12/day.
We are also looking for some cheeper possibilities for accommodatation in students dormitories.

- How to obtain next information? This First Announcement is sent exclusively by e-mail. The Second Announcement will be sent, both by post (in officially written form) and e-mail, to those who confirm their preliminary interest in the meeting and obtaining further information by December 1, 1998. Please, always provide us with current e-mail address for correspondence. All the details on "TMSF'99" will be available in our Web-site, "http://www.math.bas.bg/~tmsf" ,incl. downlodable announcements, registration forms, requirements for abstracts and papers. At present, you can find there info on the previous workshops, contents of their proceedings, etc.

Note the change of addresses in our e-mail (IMI-BAS)system! From this August in all such addresses, "acad" is changed to "bas" (for example: "virginia@math.bas.bg" , "fcaa@math.bas.bg", "pkrusev@math.bas.bg" ).

Please, let us know about any changes in your postal addresses (for the participants of TMSF, Varna'96), since in December we will be to send you a copy of the Proceedings of this meeting!

Please, post this announcement at suitable places in your institutions and distribute it (either by e-mail, postage, etc) to your colleagues that maight be interested in the meeting.

For the sake of our technical convenience, always send the messages concerning "TMSF" matters as separate ones to the special e-mail address: "tmsf@math.bas.bg" (or at least dublicate).
