Заглавие: Modern Algorithms for Ancient Scripts: A Review of AI-Based Techniques in Indus Civilization Research
Автори: Muzaffar Ali Khan, Syed Khaldoon Khurshid, Muhammad Aslam

Абстракт: The Indus script has been one of the most perennial archaeological-epigraphical problems because of the lack of bilingual sources, extreme lack of data, and widespread physical destruction of the artifacts. New computational directions to overcome these limitations are provided by new developments in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision. The paper is a systematic review of AI-based methods for identifying, analyzing, and interpreting epigraphic texts and graphemes in damaged Indus Valley seal articles. After a systematic review of the literature, publications between 2009 and 2025 were thoroughly reviewed and classified into thematic groups, such as statistical and computational linguistics, deep learning-based visual analysis, allograph identification, pattern modeling, crowdsourced dataset construction and multidisciplinary methodologies. The review assesses methodological designs, data features, preprocessing procedures, model structures and reported performance measures, whereas common pitfalls include artifact distortion, small annotated data, segmentation ambiguity and computational capacity. The study indicates significant advancements in grapheme and motif detection, with ongoing shortcomings in the domain of semantic decipherment and linguistic interpretation. With comparison insights, a multi-phase analytic model is put forward that incorporates preprocessing, sign reduction, visual recognition, pattern recognition, and interpretation modeling. The paper concludes that significant developments should involve more intensive incorporation of computational practices into archaeological and linguistics to foster further research in digital epigraphy and computational archaeology.

Заглавие: Traces of Anatolian Affiliated Cultures in Istanbul: the 1991 Exhibition at the Istanbul Archaeological Museums and Its Contemporary Relevance
Автори: İffet İzgi Billur, Alpay Pasinli

Абстракт: This study examines the 1991 "Anatolian Affiliated Cultures" exhibition at the Istanbul Archaeological Museums, focusing on its presentation of artifacts from Cyprus, Syria, and Palestine. The exhibition, awarded the European Museum of the Year prize in 1993, serves as a seminal case study for analyzing museological practices in cultural heritage presentation. The paper employs a historical-analytical methodology, drawing on archival documents, exhibition designs, and contemporary sources to reconstruct the exhibition's conceptualization and execution. A significant portion of the analysis is dedicated to the Palmyra tomb chamber reconstruction and the Syria-Palestine collections, using their current imperiled state as a poignant reminder of the threats to global cultural heritage. The findings highlight the exhibition's role in fostering cultural awareness and its innovative interdisciplinary approach. The study concludes by discussing the implications of contemporary threats, such as conflict and destruction, and underscores the critical importance of preservation, presentation, and digitalization efforts for safeguarding humanity's shared cultural patrimony for future generations.

Абстракт: This report examines the painting "The Wheel of Life" by Zachariy pop Hristov Radoykov in the church "St. John the Baptist " in the village of Karabunar, Pazardzhik region. The church was painted entirely by the Samokov icon painter in 1861, when he was only 18 years old. The main emphasis in the exhibition is placed on the individual elements and symbolism of the plot, a parallel is presented with other monuments of the era and specific icon painters. An example of a unique reading of the plot in the mural program of a Revival church by another famous master - a representative of the Second Great Samokov Icon Painter Family is also examined. Заглавие: The Museum of Dialogue – the Communication Revolution in the Art World
Автори: Ekaterina Titova

Абстракт: Contemporary communication practices are transforming the museum on multiple levels, including the way it interacts with its audience. In the context of digital transformation, traditional one-way communication models are gradually being replaced by interactive, personalized and two-way forms of exchange. The use of social networks, mobile applications, virtual platforms and multimedia resources allows institutions not only to expand their reach, but also to encourage more active audience participation. In this new context, visitors are no longer just observers – they become co-creators in the production, interpretation and dissemination of cultural content. The study examines both the advantages of this communication transition and the challenges related to engagement, authenticity and cultural dialogue in a digital environment. The application of a strategic approach to the use of new communication forms is key to the successful functioning of the museum institution.

Автори: Stefan Parvanov, Svilena Arabadzhieva

Абстракт: This article examines contemporary approaches to adapting religious temples – cultural heritage monuments – to modern safety requirements while preserving their architectural, historical, and spiritual integrity. The study analyses the main challenges related to the implementation of fire safety systems, evacuation planning, structural stability, and accessibility, taking into account the specific materials, spatial configuration, and symbolism of sacred architecture. Best practices from Bulgaria and Europe are presented, including the use of digital technologies and Building Information Modelling (BIM) for risk assessment and intervention planning. The research emphasizes the need for an integrated approach involving heritage conservation experts, safety engineers, and architects to develop sustainable solutions that harmonize tradition with modern safety standards.

Заглавие: The Information Presenter for Museums: Depth-oriented Exploration beyond Websites
Автори: Miroslav Bonchev Bonchev

Абстракт: Museums today use websites, social media, and mobile apps to promote their work and communicate with audiences. However, these tools struggle to provide deep and sustainable engagement. The Information Presenter is a software system that complements museum websites by presenting artifacts in a structured way in a desktop environment. The system offers an accessibility model with an unobtrusive micro-window, a presentation model with specialized slides (images, videos, documents), and the ability for multi-layered interpretation. Curators can easily create thematic galleries, organize content through referenced slides, and build shared editions across multiple museums. Thus, IP enables in-depth exploration combined with ease of implementation and is well suited for institutions of all sizes and available resources.

Among the priority and engaging forms of presenting this heritage within the museum environment are: museum celebrations, rituals, festivals, and temporary exhibitions. Specialists from the museum serve as members of the jury for the "Living Human Treasures" regional system, selecting and safeguarding genuine local traditional practices and their bearers. Intangible cultural heritage is a valuable resource that supports the development of cultural tourism, and serves as a model and source of creative ideas for contemporary art and the shaping of a "New Heritage". The latter represents a way of safeguarding the present traditions in a rapidly changing world.

Заглавие: Community Cultural Centers and the Digital Divide: Between Local Engagement and Systematic Constraints
Автори: Kamelia Petkova

Абстракт: The report examines the opportunities and challenges of the digital transformation of community cultural centers in Bulgaria. Based on the results of in-depth interviews with secretaries and cultural activists from community cultural centers in the cities of Plovdiv, Smolyan, and Yambol, as well as in the villages of Kurtovo Konare and Novi Han, alongside data from a sample-based quantitative survey, the analysis focuses on the degree of digitalization, its benefits, advantages, and barriers to implementation, as well as the role of community cultural centers as mediators in the digital inclusion of vulnerable groups. The qualitative data reveal good practices but also highlight limitations related to lack of capacity, restricted accessibility, and insufficient digital culture. The results indicate that these issues are not isolated but reflect systemic deficits in the cultural infrastructure. Special emphasis is placed on the absence of sustainable mechanisms for institutional support and the uneven distribution of digital resources. The study underscores the need for a strategic approach to the digitalization of community cultural centers through investments in training, technology, and accessible online environments.

The first group of manuscripts that are the subject of the exhibition is found in the fund of Acad. Yordan Ivanov - No. 52k. The second group with the presence of little-known manuscripts is found as an independent item in collection X in the archives of the Academy. The last group is contained in the so-called manuscript fragment No. 118 (according to the 1969 edition) designated by Prof. Hr. Kodov.
