Authors: Simeon Zhivkov Zhelev Abstract: The goals set in the creation of the Calligraffiti font are to go through all the stages in the work process: from research, preparatory sketches, synthesizing the shape of the letter, digitization, to a final version ready for use in graphics software and word processing programs. The starting points for the “Calligrafiti” font are to be different and dynamic, but at the same time to maintain its legibility. Therefore, the typeface has a constant slope to the left, written with a writing angle of about 30 degrees. The letters are written with a flat brush that leaves a characteristic texture, thus achieving a dynamic and expressive look. The construction of the letters follows the calligraphic tradition in Europe, and the connection with graffiti is the inverted slant of the inscriptions (tags) characteristic of the subculture.
