Abstract: The paper analyses the concept of "invisible" cultural heritage in universities based on the case study of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. It conceptualizes the invisible heritage beyond tangible and tangible forms. The historical perspective is augmented with the contemporary role of the university and its social function in Bulgaria. As a result, the paper presents a comprehensive overview of the Sofia university multifaceted contributions to the "invisible cultural heritage" shaping the formation of the cultural and social identity of the institution.
