Title: Historical and Contemporary Aspects of Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on the Visual Arts
Authors: Kristiyana Rumenova Miteva

Abstract: The article traces the historical development of artificial intelligence (AI), from its philosophical roots in Antiquity through the early stages of computer science to modern technological achievements. It examines Aristotle’s logical theories and the contributions of thinkers like Pascal, Leibniz, and Babbage, analyzing the transformation of AI from a concept into a technological reality. The impact of AI on the visual arts is explored, with emphasis on generative technologies and platforms such as OpenArt AI and ChatGPT. Ethical and social challenges, including authenticity, algorithmic bias, and the influence on creative industries, are also discussed. The conclusion highlights that AI should be regarded as a tool and partner in human creativity, rather than a substitute.
