Making the Construction 1/2


Try to re-create the drawing representing our problem. If you do not feel confident enough to do this, follow the construction steps (press the button to view the construction step by step or the button to see the ready construction or the button to see the Construction Protocol.


1. Take an arbitrary point E and construct two perpendicular lines through it. (Steps 1-4)
2. Construct a circle with radius E and radius 1 (the width of the hallways) and find the intersection points of this circle and the two perpendicular lines (Steps 5-7).
3. Construct through two of these points perpendicular lines to e1 and e2 and find their intersection point I (Steps 8-10).
4. Take an arbitrary point on each line to be used to construct rays instead of lines (Steps 11-13).
