Selected papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of Pliska Studia Mathematica after the conference.

The conference organisers cordially invite their colleagues to participate in the 18th International Summer Conference on Probability and Statistics, to be held in Pomorie, Bulgaria, 25 - 30 June 2018.

Co-organizers of the event are:

  • Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences
  • Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”

  • The Conference will take place jointly with the Seminar on Statistical Data Analysis and Workshop on Branching Processes and Applications.

    First announcement

    All topics within the Aims and Scope of the ISCPS will be considered for oral and poster presentation.

    Topics include, but not limited to: Probability theory; Statistical Inference; Branching processes; Stochastic processes; Probabilistic and statistical analysis of discrete data; Robust and nonparametric statistics; Extreme value modeling;Time series analysis; Asymptotic methods in stochastics; Econometric modelling and financial mathematics; Stochastic modelling and risk analysis; Reliability; Statistical methods in genetics and systems biology; Monte Carlo methods; Computer data analysis in applications


    Invited Session:

    Biostatistics (organized by Eva Petkova)

    Organization and suggestion of other sessions within the framework of the conference are strongly encouraged.

    The conference booklet will contain abstracts and short communication papers. Short communication should not exceed 4 pages (or 8 pages for Invited Speakers). Submitted paper will follow a simple reviewing procedure.

    For submitting an abstract or a paper, preferably LaTeX .tex files will be accepted. Source file, which contains plain text only, can be submitted in plain text format .txt . Put all source files in a compressed .zip file if you insert some figures in your abstract or paper.

    Presentations

    The Program will include invited talks and ordinary research talks. The time for presentation of invited talks is 30 minutes and the time for ordinary talks is 20 minutes, including questions.

    Journal publication

    Selected papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of Pliska Studia Mathematica after the conference.

    Interhotel Pomorie is situated just on the beach: 30 m from the sea (Black Sea). Fine sands, excellent also for swimming.

    Location:
    20 km north from the city of Burgas and 8 km from Burgas Airport.

    Transportation

    Bus or taxi from Burgas Airport (8 km). Bus stop in Pomorie is just on the right to the building of Pomorie Municipality and Interhotel Pomorie is about 400 m from there.
    From Sofia you can reach Burgas by plane or by train (and after that by bus or taxi to Pomorie).
    There are also direct buses from Sofia to Pomorie (5 hours, air-conditioning, TV).

    Pomorie is a town and seaside resort in Southeastern Bulgaria, located on a narrow rocky peninsula at the Burgas Bay on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. It is located in Burgas Province, 20 km from Burgas and 18 km from Sunny Beach. The lagoon Lake Pomorie, the northernmost of the Burgas Lakes, lies in the immediate proximity.
