Abstract: The paper presents an anthropological and historical analysis of the symbolic and ritual use of wine among the Thracians, based on classical sources and archaeological parallels. It explores the role of wine in social hierarchy, religious ritual, and the concept of imortality and rebirth. Emphasis is placed on the comparative reading of Greek and Thracian symposium traditions and their rihual dimensions.
