Autor(s):

Abstact:
    The article directs its integral scope to the current state and interaction of several seemingly not so relative objects of research and analysis. The starting point in the title is the catchphrase "Copyright is for losers" (Dazed, n. d.) attributed to the world-famous artist Banksy, reflecting a position expressed in the past, regarding copyright. Another essential component is the very mechanisms for the protection of intellectual property, both with their formal relation to contemporary art and as an object of interaction with individual creative activity. So that the case of Banksy does not remain as some eccentric exception, we draw attention to another very current case, presenting the posthumous problems of the famous Andy Warhol with the legal mechanisms for protection of the artistic creativity. The integral circle closes with an emphasis on the unifying meaning and formal character of the works concerned, with the clarification that this text has a special relation to the needs of art studies and a specialized focus on the art of printmaking.
