The occurrence of the necessity of art making is proved by the preserved artworks from the Palaeolithic and Neolithic eras, which are considered the starting point when searching for the archetypal basis of printmaking and copyright of artworks. In the following ancient civilizations such as Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt the role of art is established as a natural social function, required for the rulers and leaders, legitimating their authority and power. The basics of printmaking are being developed by deliberate crafting and use of seals as legitimizing tools with clear distinguishable artistic value.
