The short theoretical analysis of perceptions as one of the cognitive processes gives an adequate representation of the correlation of perceptions – pictorial activity. In human psychology, a main place is allocated to perception as a cognitive process. But it is much more than a simple sensory fact. The visual perceptions in pictorial activities appear as a basic cognitive process, and the accumulation of a rich supply of them is of a special significance for the artist. Auditory perceptions also activate his creative imagination, cause associations, and stimulate creativity. Perceptions allow the artist to fully recognize reality and creatively interpret it in his works. The productivity of the artistic process of the students depends on the accumulated abundance of impressions and observations.
