Abstact:
The perception of the world’s diversity is greatly due to colours. They are an illusion of human perceptions and often our senses tend to exaggerate or change them depending on the present mental, emotional, and physical state. They have a specific effect which varies based on the experience and culture in which the person has grown up. Their vital nature and vast palette of combinations cannot be conceptually and theoretically framed. In art this unpredictable nature of colours makes them a basic tool for expression of emotions, spiritual and conceptual messages. Their expressiveness and multilayeredness under the control of art’s charge turns into a scene of perfection. One can find all these inspirations from the colour palette in the works of Marieta Konova. The reason for writing the present article is the cycle of canvases, result of her creative stay in the studios of the International Art Centre ‘Cité des Arts’ in Paris under a resident program of the Union of Bulgarian artists.
