Абстракт: This research creates a theoretical framework for understanding how young people build their identities in an age dominated by social media. Because the use of digital platforms is becoming increasingly common in connecting people together, how people create, present and perceive who they are has transitioned from being something that an individual creates based solely on their experiences to something that is dynamic and mediated by both their actions as individuals as well as the limitations placed upon them by platforms. To create the Digital Identity Matrix, several theoretical schools of thought including Goffman’s (1959) [1] Dramaturgy theory, and Bourdieu’s Theory of Fields and Capital, Narrative and Dialogical Identity, and Sociotechnical Affordances, have been synthesized. Using the Digital Identity Matrix, the construction of identity can be framed across two intersecting dimensions, and provide an understanding of the conflicts that exist in the creation of one’s digital self-on the one hand an individual wants to create an authentic (i.e., true to self) version of themselves, while at the same time striving for unification (i.e., coherence, or all elements working well together) of the constructed identity; yet on the other hand they feel pressure (from peers, society, etc.) to be authentic and performative and provide enough coherence between all of the characteristics of their constructed identity that they do not fracture themselves completely. The theoretical frameworks outlined in this paper provide a way for media and cultural studies to further understand identity-as a fluid, negotiated, context-dependent process in a digital cultural environment-and establish a basis for the design of future empirical-based research on this topic.

Абстракт: This article analyzes the changing character of local festivals in small settlements under the influence of digitalization. The study is based on 40 in-depth interviews conducted in 2023 with representatives of local authorities, community cultural center (chitalishte) staff, organizers, and residents. The aim is to explore how the digital environment affects the organization, representation, and social dynamics of festive practices. The results indicate that digitalization expands the public visibility of festivals through online sharing; however, this transformation remains partial and context-dependent. New social actors emerge—digital intermediaries who assume the role of communication mediators and contribute to the production of symbolic visibility. At the same time, a tension is observed between lived experience and representation, as the festival begins to exist simultaneously as a local event and as a digital image. The analysis emphasizes that structural constraints, demographic characteristics, and limited institutional resources shape a specific model of digitalization in small settlements. Digital publicity proves to be dependent, personalized, and unstable. The article contributes to the debate on the digitalization of intangible cultural heritage by demonstrating that in peripheral communities this process follows a distinct logic—one of moderate adaptation rather than radical transformation.

Абстракт: The registration of significant rock-cut structures in the north part of the Sredna Gora Mountain, beneath the peak “Fenera” in the teritory of vilages Kliment, and KAravelovo forms a hypothesis for the existence of a large and important sacred complex or a network of sacred zones, probably connected with the registered royal residence and sanctuary at Kozi Gramadi Peak. In fact, this represents a mirror situation to the sanctuaries and mound necropolises documented along the southern slopes and foothills of the same mountain range. It is possible to interpret these sites as part of a vast sacred mega-complex of sanctuaries that marked and sacralized the entire mountain massif of the region. The whole mountain range may therefore be understood as a deified territory associated with the Thracian pagan religion and its dominant deities – the Supreme God and the Great Mother Goddess.
