Title: Forum of Three-Dimensional and Computer Graphics – VISION. The Intersection Point of Artistic Circles, Education and Industry
Authors: Svetoslav Angelov Kossev, Atanas Dimitrov Markov

Abstract: 3D Graphics Forum - VISION is an annual edition for 3D and Computer Graphics (CGI). It has been held since 2004 and is a unique project for the Bulgarian scientific and artistic scene. The forum is a working link between education, the activities of NGOs and business representatives, creating a synthesis and dialogue which provides a broader range of ideas across society. The mode, "Forum", we consider to be most beneficial in attracting groups of stakeholders to achieve more direct business access to the education and the specialists generated by it. And vice versa, education is "see how the land lies" to the processes taking place in this dynamic industry, which is experiencing constant "hunger" for specialists. There are some conclusions in the article, resulted from the experience gained in organizing eleven VISION editions of the last 14 years have been made.

Title: Challenges of Preservation, Digitalization, and Presentation of Tangible and Intangible Bulgarian Church Heritage in the Interaction of Secularization and Desecularization Processes of 20th and 21st Centuries
Authors: Liana Galabova

Abstract: Achievements of Bulgarian state policies in the field of cultural heritage management and their various social effects in the contexts of 20th century’s dilemmas depend on the development of local echoes from global modernisation processes set in precedent centuries. Nowadays post-modern and contemporary dynamically changing realities trace cultural contexts that actualise and resacralise valuable elements from forgotten traditions, appropriately documented and passed to other generations as a potential, sometimes even as balance to dominating, but inevitably changing social trends. Proportionally to the steadily increasing scholarly and public attention devoted to the church segment of Bulgarian cultural heritage, perceived by the representatives of the traditional denomination as religious, as well as national identity, it is worth preserving the opportunity or reactualisation of such extremely marginalised and reinterpreted contents from the repository of local cultural heritage.

Title: Three Emblematic for the Bulgarian Perception of Indian Persons 20th Century
Authors: Violina Atanasova

Abstract: Among the persons from the Indian history, politics and culture, who are known by the Bulgarians and left a trace in the Bulgarian memory, three names (those of Rabindranath Tagore, Mahatma Gandhi and Indira Gandhi) stand out. They have turned to symbols of India, which contributed to the shaping of the perceptions about this country and to the permanent place that it takes in the Bulgarian vision of the world.
The main purpose of the current research is the deeper analysis of their images and the changes of their interpretations with the time. An attempt is made to answer questions such as – what are the premises for such a wide popularity of those people in Bulgaria; in what social and political conditions does the change in their images take place and in what way are they used in the Bulgarian reality.

Title: The History of the Thracian Bulgarians in Documents. Culture of Memory
Authors: Gabriela Vaptzarova, Darina Ilieva

Abstract: The collection of documents for the history of Thrace is part of the rich academic documentary heritage preserved in the Scientific Archive of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. This collection has an extraordinary historical, scientific, cultural and long-term reference value. It contains material about the history of the Thracian organization in Bulgaria since its establishment at the end of the nineteenth century until the dissolution of the Union of Thracian cultural and educational societies in 1977. The architectural documents and the memories of the founding of the Thracian Institute of Sciences are preserved, above all with scientific, research and collection activities related to the history of Thrace. As a result of the long-term activity of this scientific institute, we now have the richest source base on the subject.
The chronological boundaries of the documents in the collection cover the period from the end of the 19 to the nineties of the 20 century. The volume is 150 archive boxes. Structural materials are organized into several main sections: history and activity of the Thracian organization before and after 09.09.1944; accompanying structures such as the Thracian Youth Union and the Thracian Affairs Fund; scientific works, memories, reviews, papers and sources to study the past, life, culture and revolutionary struggles of the Thracian Bulgarians from Eastern and Western Thrace; personal funds of activists of the Thracian revolutionary and cultural-educational movement; a large amount of photo material.

Title: Pilgrimage of Believers with Special Needs at the Heart of Holly Mountain of Sofia City – Study and Paradoxes of a Mission Almost Imposible Today
Authors: Mariyana Shabarkova-Petrova, Liana Galabova

Abstract: Resent requirement of elementary accessibility of church monuments at the historical centre of Sofia city for visitors, dwellers, servants, pilgrims, and tourists with difficulties is still a social challenge providing experts and responsible institutions with opportunities to seek new decisions. Actual inaccessibility of temple spaces to believers with disabilities, difficulties, special needs, and unequal social status limits spiritual messages and pastoral care that is to be directed to the expectations, rights, and attitudes of local members of the prevailing traditional denomination, but also to all tourists from the country and abroad. Complex access to sacral spaces is considered all over the world to be natural part of religious attitude to pilgrimage; still the concern facilitating visitors of any kind to sacred places as much as to tourist sites, remains equally irrevocable part of spirituality and civility.

Authors: Galina Bogdanova, Nikolay Noev, Detelin Luchev, Zsolt László Márkus

Abstract: This article presents a research on the presentation of Bulgarian cultural resources at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IMI-BAS) in the field of campanology. Problems have been investigated for representing bell-type digital objects in web-based and mobile applications. A standalone offline mobile application BOOK@HAND Bells was created in cooperation with Institute for Computer Science and Control at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA SZTAKI), based on the integration of the Web archive on the Bulgarian bells (Multimedia Fund "BellKnow") and the GUIDE@HAND mobile application family. BOOK@HAND Bells provides multimedia information on bells including textual description (history, creator, material, height, location, description, etc.), audio files containing the sounds of the bells, photos, videos presenting the bells while being tolled and diagrams representing the acoustic characteristics of the bells, etc.

Title: Has There Been a Prehistoric Rock Sanctuary in the "Bel Meil" Area on the Beliyakovsko Plateau, Veliko Turnovo Municipality?
Authors: Evgeni Koev

Abstract: On the Belyakovsko plateau, Professor Raphael Popov, has studied eight caves in which he demonstrates the existence of prehistoric life. After a long-standing search, it is a chance that members of the Cave Club "Dervent" and the School Speleo Club "Prof. Rafail Popov", will find a pre-historic rock sanctuary near the village of Belyakovec in the "Bel Mel" area. Turnovo speleologists have researched the site for more than two years and confirm with certainty that the site is probably a prehistoric observatory and a rock sanctuary. The rock sanctuary in the "Bel Meil" area is the first such sanctuary studied in the region of Veliko Tarnovo.
